Connerly Hotel circa 1900

W.M. Connerly opened a boarding house on Crooked Creek in Harrison in 1896. Travelers could buy a meal for 15 cents, beds were 15 cents and horse stalls were 10 cents.  Flooding caused Connerly to relocate to a large home at Vine and Ridge Streets. He continued adding rooms as his hotel business grew.  The Connerly Hotel was destroyed by fire in 1924. Family owned and operated, the Connerlys offered clean rooms for reasonable rates.  The Regions Bank is presently on the site of Harrison's first Family operated Budget Inns.
